 Cat Hunters

Another fantastic night on the lake..... but we really had to work for these kitty's! Kyle & I did a lot of casting and moving, as the fish just weren't biting. We couldn't get more than a fish or two from the normal spots we fish, so we had to target some new areas with mixed results. We stuck it out though and by the time we decided to head home we had 15 good ones on the stringer. My son was especially excited as he got a chance to catch his first ever flathead cat.

Summer is almost over and this was probably the last late night trip we'll get to take. With what we caught last night, we brought home 61 cats that now RIP in the deep freeze. We'll be eating good, no doubt about that! I can't express enough the thrill I've had seeing my kid get hooked onto fishing like he has. Before, it was all about baseball......but now all he wants to talk about his fishing. "Dad.....tell me about your biggest fish. Dad....tell me a fish story about you and Papa. Dad....when can we go again." I'm just tickled as can be to see the outdoors coming alive in him! What an awesome Summer.....the time on the water alone with him is definately the best times we had!
